Where's my nearest public weighbridge?

Public weighbridges are licensed by the National Measurement Institute, and its Find a public weighbridge map lists them. This page maps and lists GoWeigh's 25 sites in NSW, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia, which GoWeigh lists as open 24 hours with no booking. Check before you go: hours, fees and whether a site can weigh a car and caravan in two goes can change.

What do I need from the weighbridge?

Two weighs, unhitched and then hitched, with each axle of the car and the caravan on the docket. Bring the ATM and GTM from the caravan's compliance plate too, so Know My Tow can check the caravan against its own limits.

Weighbridge or mobile weigher?

Accepted Answer

A weighbridge gives axle totals. A mobile weigher's wheel scales give each wheel, so you also see the left-to-right balance, and they come to you. Know My Tow takes either: Weighbridge data for axle readings, Scale data for each wheel.
